Dovado is a firm that produces applications and products for mobile broadband access & telephony. Their main product line centers around routers that cater specifically to mobile broadband subscribers.

Dovado contacted us because they wanted to extend the possibilities of the Dovado USB Mobile Broadband Router. The idea was to find a way to implement home automation capabilities into the router.

The Dovado UMR has two USB ports, so together we decided that the best approach was to develop software so that the you can just plug the TellStick into one of its USB ports. The TellStick + Dovado UMR Product Combination gives you remote access to your TellStick connected gear from anywhere in the world. This means that via a web browser or SMS you can turn on/off the electricity on on electronics & lights connected to wall-plug socket receivers.

The Dovado UMR is now being phased out by the Dovado 4GR router which is a beefed up version of the UMR. It includes all the same home automation features as the UMR by as well being fully TellStick compatible.
